Acknowledging that

paramount, the Village should,
where possible, recognize the
value of urban leafy trees to
store carbon, reduce water
run-off, buffer windstorms
and mitigate summer heating
impacts by encouraging leafy tree
planting and retention.

Continue to build relationships and
partner with local, provincial, and
federal conservation, preservation,
and restoration groups including
government ministries, agencies, nonpro昀椀ts, and private landowners.

Provincial and federal environmental
regulations are recognized
and applicable within the
Village boundaries.

as appropriately-sized culverts,
underpasses or overpasses where
feasible along wildlife corridors to

Community Wild昀椀re Resiliency Plan (2024).
3.2.1.
OBJECTIVES
The Village should follow the
recommendations within the
Community Wild昀椀re Resiliency Plan
(2024).
3.2.2.
Objective 5: Protect the community from
wild昀椀re risk.
The Village should update the
Community Wild昀椀re Resiliency Plan
(2024) every 5-10 years.
3.2.3.
Require all developments to follow
wild昀椀re risk reduction principles and
design in accordance with the Wild昀椀re
Development Permit Area.
