Long-Term Rental
A lease term for a residential dwelling or dwelling unit of at least 30 days.
Low-Impact Development
(LID)
A stormwater management strategy that seeks to mitigate the impacts of
increased runoff and stormwater pollution by managing runoff as close to
its source as possible and through the use of natural methods.
Major Development
Land uses with higher impacts from density or uses (i.e., multi-unit
residential (e.g. more than 4 units), industrial, commercial uses).
Manufactured Home
Any structure, whether ordinarily equipped with wheels or not, that
is designed, constructed or manufactured to provide residential
accommodation and to be moved from one place to another by being
towed or carried.
Master Plan
A comprehensive long-range plan intended to guide growth and
development of a community or region and one that includes analysis,
recommendation, and proposals for the community’s population, economy,
housing, transportation, community facilities, and land use.
Master Planned Parcels
A parcel of land that has been comprehensively planned through the
completion of a Master Plan with supporting professional reports, plans,
and drawings that address site analysis, technical reports, and servicing
studies.
Mixed-Use Buildings
A building or groups of buildings under one ownership designed to
encourage a diversity of compatible land uses, which include a mixture of
two or more of the following uses: residential, of昀椀ce, retail, recreational,
light industrial, and other miscellaneous uses.
Mullions
A mullion is a vertical or horizontal structural element that divides and
supports the individual panes or sections of a window. It typically runs
between two adjacent window units, providing both structural support and
visual division. In addition to their functional role, mullions often contribute
to the aesthetic character of a building by creating a grid-like pattern within
the window.
Muntins
A muntin is a narrow bar or strip of material that separates and holds
individual panes of glass within a window frame. Unlike a mullion, which is a
larger structural divider between window units, muntins are typically smaller
and divide a single window sash into multiple smaller sections, creating a
grid pattern.
Natural Assets
The stock of natural resources or ecosystems that is relied upon, managed,
or could be managed by a municipality, regional district, or other form of
local government for the sustainable provision of one or more municipal
services.
Natural Boundary
Has the same meaning as in the Land Act, which, at the time of adoption of
this Bylaw was: the visible high water mark of any lake, river, stream or other
body of water where the presence and action of the water are so common
and usual, and so long continued in all ordinary years, as to mark on the soil
of the bed of the body of water a character distinct from that of its banks, in
vegetation, as well as in the nature of the soil itself.
