Amenity Zone
In street and sidewalk design, the “amenity zone” refers to a designated
section of the public right-of-way, typically situated between the sidewalk
and the street, that is designed to enhance the pedestrian environment. This
zone may be either paved or landscaped and serves as a space for various
amenities that improve comfort, accessibility, and aesthetics. Common
features found in the amenity zone include street trees, bike racks, benches,
garbage receptacles, lighting, and other urban furniture. The amenity zone
plays a key role in fostering walkability, creating inviting public spaces, and
supporting local businesses on commercial streets.

ethnicity, or mode of travel.
